The Daily Journal of Commerce recognized Anita Yap with the 2017 Women of Vision award that honor women who have exhibited outstanding industry leadership and community involvement along with a strong commitment to diversity, inclusion and mentorship. The winners were selected from public agencies, private firms and nonprofit organizations.

 

Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) Portland Chapter: Rosa Parks Diversity Leadership Award (2016)

 

Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) Portland provides an opportunity for professionals to network with fellow transportation professionals and raise money for their annual scholarships. On June 2, 2016, MultiCultural Collaborative received the Rosa Parks Diversity Leadership Award for women of color led community engagement efforts on the Metro Powell Division Transit Development and Infrastructure Project.

IAP2 Affiliates worldwide recognize professional leaders each year through the IAP2's Core Values Awards. The awards go to projects and organizations which best demonstrate IAP2's Core Values and help to raise the bar in the field of public engagement by sharing best practices and inspiring the P2 community to learn from one another. Awarded project of the year: Powell Division Transit Development and Infrastructure Projects. MCC led the design and implementation of an innovative approach to racially diverse community engagement along the Powell-Division Corridor BRT study for the Cities of Portland, Gresham, and Metro Regional Government.

The program was created during Governor John Kitzhaber’s tenure. It was designed to complement Oregon’s comprehensive land-use regulations by honoring development teams that produced built environments that embody Oregon’s Quality Development Objective. The program illustrated the benefits of Smart Growth by bringing attention to the success of projects that help Oregon’s economy grow while at the same time enhancing its quality of life.
